UPDATED CPD SEMINARS AVAILABLE FROM GRADUS
Contract interiors specialist Gradus has updated its range of CPD seminars to provide architects with the very latest information, guidance and training on the specification of stair edgings, barrier matting and wall protection.
Approved by RIBA, each seminar incorporates the most recent research and legislative requirements to supply architects with an up to date overview of how, where and why each product should be specified, installed and maintained in public buildings.
The comprehensive stair edgings seminar has been updated to cover the implications of the BRE research report (BRE IP 15/03 Proprietary Nosings for Non-Domestic Stairs) for tread sizes, materials and stair edgings. The seminar examines how stair edgings can be specified to reduce slip and trip hazards, whilst improving access for the visually impaired and helping to create an inclusive environment.
For architects specifying barrier matting, the new Gradus seminar provides a user-friendly guide to selecting primary and secondary systems. It highlights the key specification considerations and offers essential advice for installation and maintenance.
Completing the new series is the wall protection seminar, which provides a thorough introduction to wall, door and corner protection systems. It examines the features and benefits of using such systems in a range of applications and considers what legislative requirements need to be satisfied when protecting interiors and improving access.
Each seminar incorporates the latest legislation and best practice guidelines affecting building products specification, including The Building Regulations 2000 Approved Document M (ADM 2004) and BS8300:2001, to help specifiers meet the guidance contained in the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). Guidelines on fire performance, NHS Technical Memorandums and chemical, fungal and bacterial resistance are also included where relevant.
