GRADUS HELPS HETHEL ENGINEERING CENTRE STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD

Gradus Carpets have been fitted within the newly built Hethel Engineering Centre, which aims to provide a unique environment for early stage growth engineering companies within the Norwich region.

Gradus’ Square Mile was specified to carpet the centre’s conference suite, which provides accommodation for a wide range of training, workshops and meetings for local businesses. The suite plays host to an eye catching Lotus car, which has been fixed onto the wall with brackets to help create interest in conferences held there. Sally Harradence at Hethel Engineering Centre commented: “Being the first car with an active suspension, the Lotus summarises what Hethel Engineering Centre is about”.

Sally specified Gradus’ Square Mile in Fairlop, a rich royal blue colour, because it contrasted well with the bright yellow Lotus. It was also important for the centre to choose a supplier who can promptly supply additional tiles, in case the current ones require replacement at a later date. Commenting on the installation, Sally said; “As spillages and stains often occur in conference facilities, it was imperative to specify a carpet that could be easily replaced. Choosing a tile format means that damaged tiles can be renewed to help maintain an aesthetically pleasing and professional appearance”.

Choosing a tile format also meant a quick and easy installation for the conference centre. Carpet tile is easy to lay, offering speed of installation to the contractor. In addition, significantly less disruption is caused because the carpet can be fitted section by section, all of which contributes to significant savings on labour time and costs.
