D200T Dual Rail

Gradus D200 Dual Rails provide the ideal solution where both a handrail and wall guard are required as a combined system.  They have been designed to meet the specific needs of healthcare environments where pedestrian support is required in addition to protection against impact from wheeled traffic. All options are designed to meet the guidance in HBN 00-10 and HBN 00-04 (Department of Health Estates & Facilities), BS8300:1009+A1:2010 and Approved Documents K and M of The Building Regulations.

The D200T option of Dual Rail combines a solid Timber handrail with a PVC-u wall guard linked together with a specialist bracket, meeting guidance for handrail dimensions in relation to grip diameter, distance from the wall and bracket clearance. The handrail element features a 45mm diameter and is smooth for a comfortable grip whilst the wall guard element is textured to conceal the effects of impact and abrasion.

The wall guard element is modular in design with an aluminium retainer, PVC-u cover and PVC-u accessories including returns and inside and outside corners. The PVC-u covers are available in 32 colour options and are through-coloured and textured to minimise the visual appearance of damage. The PVC-u accessories are supplied with black reveals in an anti-bacterial finish to provide neat, smooth joints.

The Timber handrail features stainless steel accessories (returns, inside and outside corners) and is available in 4 wood species: Ash, Maple, Oak and Sapele (Note: the length size for the timber varies depending on species). As wood is a natural material, shade variations may occur between lengths.

Note: Handrails need to be easily identified and located for support and wayfinding and should be selected in a colour that has a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) that is 30 points different from the surrounding surface. All Gradus handrail colours have been measured to provide LRVs in order to provide the specifier with the information required to ensure a suitable visual contrast is achieved. Dual Rail should be specified in 2 colours with the handrail element contrasting with the surrounding wall surface and the wall guard blending with the wall finish.
