New Heavy Duty Trans-Edge Trims for High Traffic Applications
Click on image to enlargeA new range of heavy-duty floor trims and ramps is now available from Gradus for use in the most demanding public environments, where safe joins between floorcoverings are essential.
The new Trans-Edge range combines high quality aluminium bases with a choice of slip resistant PVC-u inserts, including Gradus’ innovative Xtra-Grip insert which provides added slip-resistance in interior environments at risk of moisture.
Designed to withstand repeated heavy traffic impacts, Trans-Edge profiles can be used to join floorcoverings of different or similar heights and the range includes a number of larger ramps for use with floorcoverings of up to 18.5mm.
Trans-Edge trims are supplied in two parts. The base is fitted first followed by the insert, offering a concealed fixing, which provides a neat finish.
Accessories Product Manager for Gradus, Caroline Davies said: “The Trans-Edge range has been specifically developed for use in environments where severe pedestrian and trolley traffic is expected, such as railway stations, department stores or hospitals.
“We have also focused on developing some larger ramps for joining floorcoverings that are particularly different in height. The greater the difference, the wider the ramp needs to be and this increases the risk of slip, which can compromise accessibility. By using our Trans-Edge ramps with Xtra-Grip inserts, the slip resistance is dramatically improved, even if moisture is carried in on footwear or wheeled traffic.”
Trans-Edge standard interior inserts are supplied in a choice of 17 colours, with four colours available in Xtra-Grip. For added flexibility, the Trans-Edge bases and inserts are supplied separately.
