GRADUS LEADS THE WAY ON SERVICE

26 April 2006

Gradus Accessories continues to lead the way on service by making a substantial investment in its transport fleet, providing customers with an even quicker and more frequent service.

The enhanced fleet includes the addition of three new vehicles, increasing the fleet from seven to ten, as well as replacing three existing vehicles with new models. With this expansion, Gradus continues to offer a superior service in terms of the amount and frequency of deliveries it makes to UK flooring distributors and will now be making in excess of 200 deliveries per week.

The improved design of the new vehicles incorporates a split level, which means a greater quantity of products can be transported. The split level design also allows goods to be loaded in a safer and more effective way, reducing the risk of damage to products as they can be stored more compactly.

Environmentally friendly objectives have always been high on the agenda for Gradus and it was a priority for the company to minimise the environmental impact of the additional vehicles on the road. As a result, Gradus ensures that no vehicle returns empty, with each one collecting raw materials from suppliers on the return journey.

Furthermore, environmental considerations continue with all new vehicles being fitted with engines that control emissions and fuel economy, with every lorry undergoing regular testing to ensure that emissions are kept to a minimum. Reducing environmental impact also affects all new drivers, who are trained and assessed by a qualified Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving (S.A.F.E.D) training driving instructor.

Commenting on the improvements to the transport fleet, Neil Thompson, Sales and Marketing Director for Gradus Accessories states: “Our transport service has always been extremely efficient and reliable and to continue meeting customer demand we took the decision to make a significant investment in our transport fleet. Through controlling all aspects of a customer order, we ensure that our customers are kept informed as to the status of their order. Ultimately, this investment ensures that our customers continue to receive the best service from us.”
