Celtic Charm

04 June 2008

Fabrics specialist Gradus has unveiled an eclectic new collection of mystical prints and weaves for hotel interiors, inspired by the designs and colour combinations popular in today’s fashion industry.

Following extensive research into current and future predicted design and colour trends, Gradus has drawn on classical Celtic mythologies to produce exciting opportunities for interior design. The Avebury collection offers a choice of five stunning print designs on a luxurious new taffeta base cloth, together with two chenille-based multi-purpose weaves, all available in an array of rich, trend colours.

The Avebury collection of print designs includes the romantic Avalon floral trail, the motif-inspired Carnac circular pattern and the bold Fyfield madras check, all offered in a choice of seven multi-colour palettes, from Red/French Blue/Pale Blue/Cream to Mocha/Duck Egg/Olive/Cream for a more natural feel.

Also available are the 2-colour Breamore, a classical damask print and Lynton, an all-over motif that coordinates with Carnac, both supplied in seven colour options, such as Plum/Mushroom and Charcoal/Cream.

Suitable for both upholstery and soft furnishings, Avebury’s versatile weaves include Broadway; a multi-colour chenille stripe on linen-effect ground in seven colour palettes, designed to co-ordinate with the prints. Penhale, a textured check weave, is offered in eleven complementary tones.

Pamela Cairns, Marketing Manager for Gradus Fabrics, comments: “This exciting new range really pushes the creative boundaries but at the same time, retains the high standards of practicality and commercial value associated with Gradus fabrics. The new taffeta base cloth creates an opulent silk effect that is popular with hoteliers, as well as meeting with current British Standards for flammability, making it ideal for use in hospitality environments.”

The new Milan silk-effect taffeta comprises 100% flame retardant polyester, compliant with the requirements of BS5867 part II Types A, B and C and BS7175:1989.
